The Evolution of Extraordinary: The Whit Harvey Group Joins Monument Sotheby’s International Realty

The Whit Harvey Group has always been an extraordinary resource for both buyers and sellers in the Baltimore area. The team prides itself on providing the best service for their clients –and in moving forward find that Monument Sotheby’s International Realty® office in Ruxton is the perfect fit. Monument Sotheby’s continues to attract top talent and high performers, and as part of the team affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty®, the group will continue to provide their clients the best of both worlds: local expertise with global connections.

Whit Harvey began his real estate career in 1981 with James Piper and O’Connor Piper & Flynn. There he remained – even as the company went through a series of mergers eventually becoming Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate.

Why the decision to leave Coldwell Banker after so many years?

“The Sotheby’s name has always been connected with high quality. Clients have entrusted their most treasured possessions to the auction house since 1744. It makes sense that Sotheby’s International Realty® would show the same care with a client’s most treasured possession – their home. Monument Sotheby’s International Realty® is one of the fastest growing brokerage firms in the United States as recognized by REAL Trends 2018 ‘Up and Comers’. It seemed like the perfect next step in our own evolution.”

Will you just be representing “Luxury”? Will my home qualify for the Sotheby’s name?

“Every client’s home is special to us because it is special to them. Monument Sotheby’s International Realty® represents homes across a range of prices, and each one is treated in the same careful way. At the Whit Harvey Group, we’ve always wanted our clients to think of us as their “Realtors for Life.” We’ve worked with many of our clients from purchasing their very first starter home to selling their last one and moving to a retirement community. And now we are working with their children who are just starting the journey of home ownership. To us, the Monument Sotheby’s name doesn’t just represent the quality of the listings, but the quality of the listing agent.”

How are you feeling about the move?

“I’m excited. We look forward to working with agents in the Ruxton office, as well those in the other Monument Sotheby’s offices. Aside from having beautiful office spaces, they also engage with the community. For instance, a show of artwork created by Gilman School students is currently hanging in the Roland Park office. Monument Sotheby’s hosted an opening reception, which gave local residents and agents the opportunity to meet and mingle, and gave the artists a place to display and sell their work. This idea of art on the walls will also be implemented in the Ruxton office, with new artists being featured every month. Everyone is invited to the opening receptions.”

What would you tell your clients?

“I would tell them that along with the same attention to detail and caring consideration that they have come to expect from the Whit Harvey Group, the team is newly energized and ready to take it to the next level with Monument Sotheby’s International Realty®. Go team!”
